Not Martha’s Poncho
26 August 2005
I finished knitting the Cable-Edged Poncho in the latest Knit It! magazine. All I need to do now is weave in the ends and block it. It was knit in Lopi’s Pale Denim — my first time knitting with Lopi — and it was a pain. Maybe there’s a method to knitting with Lopi that I don’t know about, but I don’t plan on knitting with it again. The fibers seemed to stick together and felt rough between the fingers. I also pulled bits of grass (Icelandic?) from the working yarn while I was knitting. It didn’t make for an enjoyable project that’s for sure. The next time I feel like knitting with a bulky, I’ll stick with Lamb’s Pride.

This is stunning! Do you get much use from it?
Love, Ang
Angela: Sadly, no. I still didn’t weave in the ends, so I’m thinking about recycing it into something I can felt. All that felting you were doing got me thinking ….
