What did I do during my Spring Break last week?
I finished Monkey …

Pattern: Monkey by Cookie A.
Yarn: Hand-dyed by Belinda of Wool Bunny, Perfect Autumn Leaf
Needles: Addi circs (2.5 mm)
Gauge: 8 SPI
Mods: PGR short-row heel with heel st
I absolutely loved knitting with this yarn! The colors … the hand-dyeing … everything was perfect. There was no unsuspected pooling or flashing of colors, so I placed a custom order ;)
I practiced spinning … cast on for New England …

and I treadled a pair of spinning wheels! I’m pretty sure Rock is sick and tired of hearing about all things spinning-related!

Having lived in several countries and states, Autumn is hit or miss. I missed it while living in Asia, the UK, Texas, Nebraska, Arizona, and here. We were living in Arizona when I told Rock how much I missed that season and it’s not often I reveal anything to him.
In October of 1998, Rock had to fly to New England and he brought back real Maple syrup and a box. Since Rock can be both a practical joker and a romantic, I took the box apprehensively. “Go ahead, open it.” It was a good-sized box, but light. “Should I be scared?” He smiled. “Just open it.” I opened it and laughed while I threw the contents of the box in the air. He brought me Autumn leaves.
I’m two seasons late, but I finally found a pattern to showcase this beautiful hand-dyed yarn by Belinda at Wool Bunny, appropriately called Perfect Autumn Leaf. Pattern is Monkey by Cookie A. and my neighbors’ yellow crocus, snatched up by Nugget.
